Screaming for Vengeance seems to be considered
a or the breakthrough depending on your experience. As one who saw them on Top of the Pops in the UK in 1978/9 or so. It's from
Killing Machine from 1978 so that seems right.
British Steel
and
Point of Entry
followed and then Screaming. OK, the brilliant - especially experienced live with Glenn - Beyond the Realms of Death and the infamous "suicide track"
and the the cover of Fleetwood Mac's Green Manalishi was also on Killing Machine so they had been having some success but Screaming had a different
tone. The producer was the same as on the previous two albums but this time the mixing was done in a studio in Florida after being recorded in Spain (a
tax thing apparently). Some critics said it was heavier but I say not by much but there was an evolution in production (and of course the material was
evolving) and there was a noticeable tranition with Screaming. You Got Another Thing' Comin' would be the iconic track and it's got a groove but the
opener The Hellion/Electric Eye and Riding on the Wind are one of the best openers of any album. For a while they opened with the Hellion/Electric Eye
combo and did so at the 1982 show in Memphis which I didn't realize was being recorded. Lot of times they'll telll you but considering it was 1982 I might mave missed
it. Long story.
Okey-dokey. I took a break in fact the whole crew did but Chris' unemployment was about to run out so it was either pay him for not doing anything or pretend to work
a couple of times a month. Won't change much but I've got some extra time the days since I stopped worrying about things like mass murders in rehab facilities in
Jonestown. I officially have zero fucks left to give for what don't concern me. I'm one of the survivors and I'm moderately well off and halfway healthy so outside
of family and friends they don't exist. A few old friends and a handful of newer that have been around long enough.
Commentary on socio-political things will continue and since I was never suffered fools gladly before the tone won't change much. Since the situation of humanity
continues to deteriorate the absence of fucks that was pretty much a given before won't be that noticeable.
Whiskey of the day is Maker's Mark again. Actually I don't drink it that often so a jug lasts a while and usually there's one or two unopened ones waiting. Never know
when supply interruptions may happen. Seegar is one of them Drew Estate Sweet Janes. They about the same size as a Swisher mini, maybe one or two ring sizes bigger.
Come in little flat tins of ten.
Weather is hot. It's July. Rain about average I reckon. Ready Chris? Wait, gotta do the specials. Not gonna take the time to take pics of the snack of the day.
Today it's Mezzato marinated artichoke hearts and Libby's vienna sausage. Just one can and half a jar of the artichokes. The marinade is the reason you eat them
and if you don't belive me try them without it. Armour is the big brand around here so I tried the Libby's. Mushed-up presumably animal flesh is what is. Not bad.
Lessee, whiskey, seegar, and snacks. Let's do it.
Since the latest butchery of classics is being discussed lately that's
my hardback copy.
May have gotten it at a mail-order operation known
as Publishers Central Bureau as they had a lot of good deals back in the day. Got stuff like a set of Handel's Organ Concertos (vinyl)
for ten bucks or so. Kinda like
Books-a-Million
but they're not as good. Used to go to the one in Jonestown in the Caraway-whatever shopping center. Maybe now I'm retired I'll check it
out occasionally. The businesses there come and go and some go almost before you know it. Anyhow I liked mythology (mostly Greek and the Norse
was pretty good but Roman kinda something or other less interesting) but mythology is kinda frozen as they say of code. But for some who
are pretty much the same bunch that say there's no difference in male and female Homo sapiens try to unfreeze it. So we get the perversion that
is the latest Odyssey. I watched about 900 seconds give or take and got the idea that blackwashing wasn't the most egregious assault even if it
was the most direct attack. But them as sez that there no difference in male-female try to physically change the bodies to seem more the opposite
of what they was born - all kinds of sick peoples but there you are. And sadly so there we are. On the subject of mythology I should mention
Edith Hamilton's piece.
Maybe I should note that the really good
Odyssey movie
had an African-American actress. So she's barely recognizable as such and is a less important character and the idea is so be as offensive as
possible to normal people....

Classic movie is Sudden Impact and if I've done it before we'll do it again. Sudden Impact came about seven years after the previous installment
and five so years covered the first three so there's a bit of a gap. Some were wondering if there would be any more so there's that. Dirty Harry 1976
and 1983 were different but so was society. I saw it in a base theater at Vandenberg AFB back in the day and I remember hearing peopl say 'he looks old'
as he's walking to the courtroom in the opening. He had visibly aged a bit but what was he 90-something in his last movie?
I believe it was
The Outlaw Josey Wales
when he and Sondra Locke got together the first time in a movie.
The Gauntlet was my fave as in the TOJW films she was rather peripheral. In SI
she was a ballsy but sexy co-star. Clint is the washed-up drunk selected as the sacrifice but she goads him into being the man he should have been.
Charlie Bronson's character in
Murphy's Law is similarly flawed/failing protagonist who rises to the challenge.
The irony of Jennifer about to kill the chief's catatonic son because of her sister is something some watchers won't get but those bits are there in
all the Dirty Harry films. I only saw the
awful last one
a couple of times so not sure about that one. Hopefully there was some bit of sense in there.

"It will be a while," Carson said, taking out cigar case and proferring it. Arthur took one but Harry declined, taking out a
pack of Tafallas. Miranda also had a pack and lit one up.
Wonder if I should try it.
About a half hour later their prisoner was delivered. Flanked by two guards she shuffled in. She was clean now and in a
fresh jumpsuit, her hair still damp. With no makeup she didn't look half bad, Arthur thought. Nothing special but not bad.
He remembered her on the news shows, hair and makeup done by professionals just before going on.
The PPN shows were completely scripted, the appearances on supposedly independent channels weren't much better - just not as polished.
The first time he saw her she was reading a statement. The Phoenix Five indictments. She read the names and ages of the arrested
men and the charges. Then the interviewer, one Savannah Rogers, responded.
"I love that scarf," she said. "Is that a Sarah Rosenberg?"
"As a matter of fact it is," Stoneman replied, laughing.
"I suppose the people whose names you just read are not thinking about scarves now," Rogers said with a smile. Both laughed.
Wonder if they should play some of those videos for her. I probably would.
As it turned out Carson had the same idea. After Stoneman was seated he picked up a remote and activated one of the video
screen on the wall.
The video was another of her appearances - after the raid on the Temple of Undying Light. Arthur looked at Miranda - she
was expressionless but she would have known what was coming.
The burning buildings could have been any news broadcast of recent years - a few seconds in a chyron identified it.
Calhan, Colorado. A young woman holding a microphone appeared, KARV47. Melissa Davenport.
The sound was turned down and they watched as reporter Davenport interviewed a couple of people. Arthur looked at Stoneman, who was as
expressionless as Miranda. Carson paused it when a commercial break occurred. He selected another video and started it.
This one featured another PPN show, featuring Stoneman at a press conference. She pointed to someone in the audience, a reporter shouting
a question Arthur couldn't make out.
"The operation was unfortunately a necessity," she responded. "We had reliable information that hostages were in danger of being killed and
delay was unacceptable."
Another question.
"While we were aware that children were present in the compound," she said, "our information was that the hostages were in a segregated section in
which only adult militants were present. Unfortunately the children were, apparently, moved into that area. We believe it may have been deliberate."
Carson stopped the video again.
"Everything you said was a lie," he said to Stoneman, "and you knew it. You know most people watching would know you were lying and you
didn't care. There were no hostages, most of the people in there were unarmed."
"My brother was unarmed," Miranda said. "I was in there several times. They were a pacifist organization, didn't even have armed security.
You people went in there and killed them and burned the place to silence one man."
"If you don't want to go back in that box you'll cooperate," Carson said. "You have no way of knowing what we know and if you lie you'll
that's where you'll find yourself."
Balance of Power (2022)

Look, it's a guy who hates non-Demoncraps and can't find fault with them while relentlessly ranting falsehoods against all that
is good and decent so what's the deal here? OK, the film I'm not gonna watch less for the insult with the blackwashing than what
reliable sources tell me is a total fucking of the whole story or most of it. Odysseys slaying the guys hitting on his wife
wife (after his kingdom) I need to watch again in the TV miniseries from 1997. Know what's weird? They had an African-American actress
in that one. Yep. OK so you could hardly tell but there it was. No, unless the audience knows it is being insulted it's no good.
Actually Troy in 2004 or so was rather dumb for reasons not related to blackwashing. Kinda like DC was better than Marvel even if
Marvel had flashier stuff. And the movies were pretty much the same and I could rarely get through twenty minutes of any of them.
So what's that toon about? Well, much as the artist hates all that is good and decent his party has of late been choosing the disciples
of Stalin and Mao and they have been winning elections. Mom Donny is probably the most noticeable but the invaders are close to taking
over the party. The same divided government (states vs federal) and the inability to take it all at once has them taking a few places
like California and New York (OK NYC but... ) and Illinois and Minnesota and Jersey but that doesn't do it. They're gambling on a
complete federal takeover that will force the non-crazy states like Texas and Tennessee and such to finance their socialist states. If
it works you will probably have a civil war for real and if it doesn't... that would be interesting.
Proctor Arkansas is an unincorporated place over in Crittenden County. Been there once. Little lake there called Blue Lake. One time I was there was probably with
the two usual suspects in those days and there was a lot of people around drinking and stuff and a lot of young chicks in bikinis. Looked like one of those places an
outsider might get in some trouble. Or an insider I reckon. Anyhow in
this episode
of northeastern Arkansas crime it's a Proctor Man got nabbed. Seems he abducted a person in Marion. Now Marion is about 17 miles or so from Marion so he hauled her a fair distance.
Other news reports don't say much more than this one. Sez he battered her in the second degree and was a certain person who possessed a firearm. And he was on probation so it weren't
his first time.
Couple from Wynne or the Wynne paper anyways which ain't a paper on account of the tornado that busted up my place while I was in it banged up their place. It don't look that
bad and anyway the paper printing was outsourced to the Forrest City or so I heard. First up we got
a shooting. All they got on it is that a female victim was stuck
by gunfire on the Baptist Youth Camp road up there in the hills. Helicoptered to Regional One health over in Memphis and to be real I didn't know that that is. Usually they go
to something called The Med.... hang on. That's the same thing as The Med. Okey-dokey. Google sez that could cost from $12,000 to $80,000 with the average bill $36,000 to
$40,000. Now somebody in a auto accident or such there's a good chance there was some insurance that would take care of it but a shooting and who knows whodunnit or the
daily thugs shootin' up each other on the streets of Chicago and Memphis and wherever there thugs to shoot and be shot when they have to be choppered to a hospital and probably
no insurance.... that's what we taxpayers are for.
Other Wynne story, Progress story actually is about the good kid who
shot and kilt
a cop in Marked Tree. So it is a Wynne story kinda as the perp is a native of Wynne as I probly mentioned earlier. He was out on $1,500 and being charged with
a homicide they naturally want more bail. Presumably he will be reincarcerated again, reincarcarated actually since reincarcerated again is redundant and somebody have
to find some more money.

Lindsey Graham
was an annoyance while alive. I often figured him to be compromised by two opposing entites and neither one would burn him if he occasionally didn't cooperate on some things. Looking
back at the whole picture I suppose he was sincere in most everthing and was wrong about some things. Checking out at 71 isn't expected especially for a guy in
that position but the unexpected is always lurking there no matter who you are. Anyway idunno
if the guy is a rapper
or something else.
Rappers kill each other
- and sometimes other people regularly - but whatever this dude was doing I don't care to check out to determine a genre. If
he did slice up a 14-year-old girl and leave her body in a car and go on tour or whatever is's pretty sick. Too easy for people with no redeeming value of any kind to get rich and famous.
O. J. Simpson became rich and famous for one reason - he could catch a football and run like a scalded dog. That was it. He got rich and
being in the Big Club they gave him movie parts and he got richer. Married a good-looking white woman and beat her up. Finally he killed her
and a guy who had the bad luck to be there. Zero value except on paper for the people who trade in that market.

As usual like Branco he nails it. Look, the fraud has always been there (in the 1970s counting ballots I could see it) and it's only gotten worse
what with mail-ins and the same person getting multiple ballots and people that don't live somewhere getting ballots sent to their old address and
dead people and all it's surprising that Donald Trump was able to win a third time. OK, second official but whatever. If fraud could be eliminate
or even cut to half Demonrats would never win anything outside of New York and maybe Califorina and a couple others.
Actually the fraud elimination and the discontiunation of shit like climate change and inequity and all that shit had nothing to do with an importer
of Mexican lettuce. You get veggies from a place where the workers shit right there in the field (fertilizer doncha know) and go on picking lettuce
and tomatoes and stuff and don't get some disease occasionally. I find the coverup attempts amusing but suspect that some in the administration have
an interest in this not becoming a problem. Scumbags on both sides of the aisle as they say but for now we're stuck with voting for the less scummy
and trying to improve things.

Pine Tree looked the same as always. It had looked this way twenty-something years ago the first time Alex saw it and three years of use as a Magnos
site hadn't changed its outward appearance. He glanced over at Cassandra a couple of times on the final mile of Crabtree road. She looked happier than
yesterday.
Yesterday she had worn a pensive look all day and he hadn't intruded into her thoughts. If she wanted to talk she'd let him know.
If she wanted to talk. She couldn't or wouldn't for whatever reason - trauma mental or physical. Or both. She and Alex had learned sign language for brief
conversations but she wrote her longer thoughts and listened to his.
A couple times she seemed to have a slight smile but wasn't looking his way at the time so he wasn't sure. Getting out of Tennessee had been dicey and
her reaction indicated there was still a normal human being in there, but one that could be suppressed in an instant when survival was at stake.
Alex remembered something he'd heard somewhere, that in the fight for survival conscience is the first sacrifice. He knew there was a dark side to it,
and had seen it. People selling out anyone to save their own skin no matter the situation. He knew Cassandra wouldn't do that - she would kill to save
herself and even more readily in his defense - but she wouldn't harm an innocent person for any reason. He'd seen it when she held her fire when a
non-combatant was being used as shield.
Took a bullet rather than risk harming an innocent bystander.
It had turned out all right, but the brief bloody melee that followed had left her shaken.

Most of the sunlight was blocked by enormous loblolly pines, hundreds of acres planted more than sixty years earlier. The road was on a strip about a
hundred feet wide, everything else was pine trees. The trees ended suddenly and they were in a clearing.
About a quarter mile wide and deep, the forty acres was a mile from the nearest paved highway and further from civilization. The road had to be upgraded
to get the materials for the compound in and allow resupply. A couple of trucks were at the loading docks of the larger of the two warehouses. Alex turned
left towards the headquarters.
Almost all the buildings were constructed of sheet metal, in this case painted a dark green that blended with the pine forest. It could be seen from the air
and thus by satellites or reconnaisance aircraft but the outward appearance gave no clue to what was inside.
Knowing that would require infiltration by human beings.
He parked Beowulf in near the main doors. The 1970 Dodge Power Wagon wasn't especially out of place - a couple of Vietnam-era Jeeps and a M809 of about the same vintage
were present along with several older pickups.
He killed the engine and looked over at Cassandra.
"Ready?" he asked.
She smiled, the smile of the sixteen-year-old girl that she would have been had her life not been rudely interrupted by some evil people at fourteen. Alex sensed the normal girl
was still there, occasionally surfacing in calmer moments.
They left their luggage in the truck and walked to the entrance.
Cassandra was wearing a white MA-1 flight jacket over a black turtleneck and tight jeans tucked into calf-high boots. White flight jackets weren't easy to find
before the trouble started but Alex already owned several. He found some smaller ones for Cassandra and they had become one of their trademarks. For those who knew them. The boots were
like Alex's custom made by a shop in Tennessee. The stiletttos sheathed in the tops were visible - a couple of other tricks weren't.
The glass double doors opened as they approached and a man came out.
"Glad you made it," he said. "Didn't have any trouble finding us, did you?"
"Not a bit," Alex replied. "Cass, this is Eric Martin. Eric, Cassandra."
Cassandra favored them with the usual shy smile.
"Nice to meet you," Eric said. Alex had briefed him on her situation and he didn't expect a reply. "The old man's upstairs, in a meeting just now. Let's go on up."

The First Family and their business probly don't have much to do with the case. The case is PRESIDENT TRUMP suing the BBC for defaming him.
The thing is there ain't much that isn't known about their businesses and it's all pretty much out there. Kinda like of Donald Trump ever had anything
to do with Epstein except kicking him out of his club and tellin the law he would help prosecute him years before he even got prosecuted the first time.
Little about his life for years isn't known but like those believes there's a trove of secured "Epstein Files" hidden somewhere (I have little doubt that
stuff was grabbed by the FBI and whoever when he went down and that's probably stashed somewhere but for some reason they aren't asking about that. No,
the smarmy little BBC people can delay and obfuscate and in the end may not lose but so far Mr. Trump's track record is pretty good. ~~~ Election deniers
are only referred to as election deniers when they present actual evidence of fraud rather than bellyaching like the dims when they got their assses kicked
fair and square. Well, still not all fair and square as the dims didn't manage enough fraud this time. ~~~ Hard-right as usual is a Republican who isn't
a RINO or a milquetoast or both.
Lessee, ANTIFA is supposed to Anti-Fascist but are actually Fascists. President Trump opposes Fascism and Communism and various flavors Socialism but
some dipshit cartoonist thinks anyone with three of four contiguous functional brain cells belives that Antifa and the Burn-Loot-Murder crowd isn't.

another Blytheville woman for a negligent homicide and it was the dead guy they found in Blytheville the other day.
This one canceled her insurance, had a wreck,
reinstated the insurance before reporting it. Didn't work. I'd about fogot about the Osceola police scandal and going through a couple of police chiefs in just a bit.
This one promises to do better. Seems that won't be too difficult.
Finally we head back to Wynne for another one where they have an article
about a shooting (fatal) and a wreck (also fatal).
