I was vaguely aware of Armored Saint for a while before I picked up Symbol of Salvation after seeing them in Hellraiser III. Hanging Judge was on the soundtrack and is one of the best tracks but Reign of Fire might take the top spot. I picked up the rest of their work later. They took a break afterwards until around 2000 possibly to personnel changes. Just noticed they later released a couple of live albums that I don't have.

Hellraiser movies like Stephen King are kinda hit-and-miss (King has been about all miss for a while now) and this one may be the one I like best. That may be because of Terry Farrell in the lead. The goth chick was kind of charming as well but a seriously pretty woman named Joey is irresistible. Sure it's a nickname but whatever. I suppose Pinhead is actually the star and he's in all of them.

An old man escaping from prison on his own shouldn't have much of a chance. I say old but I guess 56 isn't that old. Authorities are saying the terrain isn't easy to find people in so it may be that or if he had some help he may be harder to find. Them that escaped in Louisiana seem to have had about as many accomplices inside and outside as there was of them. Or the old man may have already succumbed to the nature.

The other TV station in Jonestown told us how RFKjr told the CDC to stop recommending vaccines that don't work to people that don't need them anyway. Naturally they observe that experts are concerned the move skipped the usual Centers for Disease Control and Prevention review and that experts are calling for more evidence to support the decision. And that Just 14.4% of eligible pregnant women and 13% of eligible children have received the latest version of the COVID shot. Just over 10% are still deluded. I still see people wearing masks occasionally. Still remember Biden ranting about us unvaccinated and telling us how "his patience is wearing thin." His life is wearing thin and I'm still a pureblood.

Five years after George Floyd OD'd while being arrested scumbags are still lying about it. The Marshall Project is a lefty propaganda outfit funded by the same ones that pushed DEI and CRT and tranny madness. The railroaded cop may well do the full 20-something but even as an old man when he walks free for the first time George Floyd will be that much deader. Somehow once the Democrat CDC was cleaned up they haven't been slaughtering millions of chickens and still not bird flu? The ultimate goal was to eliminate the small chicken farmers and the backyard birds. Get it all in one or a few big operations that can be shut down quick and easy. Bluecry? Most of the lefties who fled there still show up on X regularly. Talking to each other and no more of them than there are it got kinda dull.

Beginning to wonder about this guy. Maybe he was prepared and/or had outside help in which case finding him might be difficult. I wouldn't figure him to be prepared to survive in the wilderness but you never know. What he was looking at maybe anything it took to stay escaped might be worth trying. Them that broke out of prison down in Louisiana had about as many on the outside helping them as there was as them.

What's happening - if the bill passes reasonably intact - is that a bunch of illegals won't get food stamps and Medicaid but there's them as don't care about facts. Over a trillion a year given away and the debt going up at a trillion every three of four months or so what do these people think will happen when it becomes unsustainable? People like me with gold and silver and guns and food and all stashed and set up in a survival network won't like it much but those millions of people suddenly not fed and with no water and electricity is gonna be ugly. And unless we somehow get if fixed it's coming.

Free Fall in Crimson was near the end of the Travis Mcgee books. John would write two more and die about five years later. Travis McGee is one of the more believable pulp icons and MacDonald gets is stuff right most of the time. The bad guy snap-shooting what seems to be a COP derringer with deadly effect is a little off but while he knew a bit about guns he may not have known enough to have picked that up.

The baddie in this one is one of the scariest ever. Junior Allen in The Deep Blue Goodbye and Boone Waxwell in Bright Orange for the Shroud are pretty evil, the quintessential sociopath you don't want to fool around with. Dirty Bob in FFIC is right nasty and probably not a nice fellow on any day. Once he loses his meal ticket and finds he's dying from cancer and the end is near one can at least see how he would justify his final spree - unlike the others.

For some reason John has the lady that Travis rescued back in The Quick Red Fox get involved and when Dirty Bob goes on his final crusade of vengeance she gets done in horribly. Anyway it ends up with Trav looking down the barrels of that .357 and figuring it's the end even though he's made preparations.

Yeah, I got one. Shot it a dozen or so times with .357 and it was tolerable with .38s but the trigger was still awful. My favorite for that sort of thing is a Charter Undercover and you got five shots.

Can't be too careful. I've known enough people that had businesses where the employees stole them blind or at least nearsighted to write a book. Actually I did but haven't published it yet like all my other books but one. Knew a guy who had a Radio Shack back in the 1980s they were gold mines and went broke because he didn't keep an eye on the help and then he opened a liquor store and had the same thing happen. He was one of those types figured he was smart because he married money and in the end the money divorced him. Hope it works out for this one but good luck getting that money back. Sometimes insurance covers some of it but that's iffy.

Over in Memphis some people are upset about the budget but don't seem to know why. I don't like it much either but do know why - it doesn't do anything to address even a tiny amount of the massive fraud and waste exposed by DOGE. Maybe this:

...imposes reforms, like beefed-up work requirements, on Medicaid that are projected to result in millions of low-income individuals losing health insurance; rolls back green energy tax incentives; and, among many other provisions, increases the debt limit by $4 trillion.

WREG.com
Actually it will remove millions of illegals from Medicaid and require legal recipients who are physically and mentally able to work to do a small amount of work. Seems reasonable to me and those of us paying for it.

One of the biggest frauds perpetrated by a bank on its customers suggests their analysts might or might not be competent or honest or none of the above. Five years ago George Floyd fatally OD'd (OK, he was also fat and diabetic and healthy or not shouldn't put all them drugs in himself) and the Summer of Love 2020 began.

What, Chris?

Nah, couple of years ago. They were opening accounts for people that didn't ask or even know about them. To make their quotas, kinda like cops stop people who aren't speeding. Kinda like that, anyhow seems they paid about three billion in fines or whatever. About what Boeing paid for making defective airplanes. Of course those killed a lot of people but nobody has to go to prison.

Apparently things were pretty bad in Blytheville. Removing the school board is pretty drastic and the folks in government don't want to deal with the reaction - one reason the Tennessee government is so timid about fixing Memphis. Blytheville is a little town and some of the residents seem to know they have a problem but what gets done about it remains to be seen.

They don't want illegals removed from Medicaid and SNAP and they don't want able-bodied legals to put in a few hours of work for their Medicaid. Can't wait for the fireworks when they start cutting soda and junk food from SNAP. And it's more than four states, close to twenty now. It's probably gonna happen though, and the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth will go on. We'll hear about food deserts but I see that Earle is apparently no longer a food desert because they got a Dollar General DG Market. There's one of those in Harrisburg and I been meaning to stop there one day but haven't got around to it.

President Trump confronted him with proof and it's not like it hasn't been known for years. But the word went out - ambush - and all the tools repeated it endlessly until the next talking points arrived. Dunno what he was expecting after Zelenskyy got eviscerated. How does climate change affect your gut health? These guys are scraping the bottom of the barrel.... no, there's something lower. The Israeli forces often take casualties rather than harm an enemy non-combatant. As always they're accused of what their enemies are doing.

Don't have many rattlesnakes around my place except the pygmies. Ground rattlers we used to call them, except they don't rattle because the rattles are so small. Plenty of copperheads on dry ground and their cousins the cottonmouths in wetland. Don't want to tangle with either. Out on the old farm we used to see quite a few rattlers, some of them pretty big.

Dunno what grade was graduating. Back in my day we graduated from the sixth grade because that was all of elementary school and we was going to high school. Junior high anyway it was the last half or the twelve years. These days they graduate from kindergarten.

A two-lane road, new and smooth, ran the half-dozen or so miles to Palladium. About a mile from Highway 42 an escort waited - two late-model crew cab trucks painted flat gray. They looked like the type favored by rural law enforcement in the years before the war. Still had the lightbars. Nick slowed to let one of the trucks enter the highway ahead of him, knowing that the usual procedure was for the other to fall in behind him. In less than ten minutes he was approaching the main gate. The gate was open and the escorts went through without stopping. A small group of men in khaki uniforms stood around the outside but only a handful were armed with rifles - the others had sidearms only. A few gave the convoy a casual glance while the others ignore them. This deep in security wasn't much of a concern and Palladium was a Class D installation. Whatever it was must not be that important. The leader entered the parking lot of a large new-looking building and stopped. Two people were standing on the sidewalk. Nick took the space beside it and the other truck took another. He opened the door and got out. The drivers of the trucks remained in their vehicles. That's Harry Holleman. Recognize him from the dossier. Who's the chick? “Nick, good to see you at last,” Harry said. "Heard a lot and was wondering when you'd get down this way.” “Nothing good | imagine," Nick replied. “Not a bit,” Harry replied with a grin. "Wouldn't have asked for you if it was.” "Going to introduce your associate?" Nick asked. "Guess | should," Harry replied. "This here is Miranda McKnight, my executive assistant. Which is to say she runs the place. | just keep the money flowing and provide an excuse for keeping this place off-limits to about everyone.” 's about invisible,” Nick said. “To me it was just a name on a map until a week ago when Gideon called me in last week. | figured if he thought it was more important than what | was doing it might be interesting.” After the Storm (2024) "No shortage of space around here," Nick commented. "Who does your grounds maintenance?" “We get a good deal on that," Harry replied. "How about that drink?" “Stop twisting my arm," Nick replied. “This way,” Miranda said. Nick followed, a pleasant task. Miranda looked to be in her early thirties, very early. Nearly as tall as Nick's five-ten, slim but not skinny. Willowy, Nick called it. She was wearing snug-itting olive cargo pants with Timberland boat shoes. He had a couple of pairs and considered them the best available - designer brands were for posers. A tan turtleneck was on top, around her waist a stout web belt with a pistol in a crossdraw holster. As she walked he thought there was a sign of a weapon above the left ankle, maybe a decent-sized knife. Harry was wearing a vertical shoulder rig with a larger gun, one a little big for a crossdraw. Neither of them removed their weapon and neither did Nick. His rig was similar to Harry's - a Blackburn kubon occupying the right side above the double magazine carrier. Harry looks like a 10mm man - wonder what Miranda carries. Harry headed towards a bar in a corner of the room. "You particular about your whiskey?" he asked. "We're a little short on a couple of brands.” Miranda nodded towards the bar and walked over, Nick following. “Long as it isn't scotch," he said. "I can live with Canadian.” "| don't allow Canadian either,” Harry replied. He held up a bottle of Wild Turkey. "Glad to see you're not short on that,” Nick said. "It'll do." After the Storm (2024) Nick guessed that the prison was not the sole or even primary purpose of Palladium. He had seen the barebones specs and it showed four square miles of mostly open fields and forests. With a secure perimeter a lot of stuff could be hidden there. Sixteen miles of perimeter - Harry's using some serious manpower. Wonder what else is in here. Harry drove the four-passenger golf cart and Miranda sat in the front passenger seat, describing the features they passed. “The armory is in there,” she said, pointing to a fenced enclosure with several large buildings. "Up ahead is the motor pool.” The motor pool was large - Nick guessed there were fifty to sixty vehicles. Almost all had the Timberwolf paint scheme but several of what looked like civilian vehicles were visible. "Prison just ahead,” Miranda announced. Nick could see a double row of chain link fencing with razor wire on top. A handful of personnel standing around a guard shack moved away from the road as they arrived. Harry nodded to the guy at the shack window and the gate opened. As they passed through Nick could see that the fences were about twenty yards apart. There would probably be sensors and patrols to prevent escapes. Even if all the inmates are women and probably damn few if any ever committed a physical act of violence, Just incited other people to do it. After the Storm (2024) "You say you have some interesting prisoners?" Nick asked. "Some you might find moderately interesting,” Harry replied. "I seem to remember you being interested in the psy-ops end of things.” "You got some of their operators?" “We got some of the vermin,” Harry replied. “A lot of it anyway. Like rats hanging onto pieces of debris after the ship sank, they were hanging onto their former masters. Some of the masters got away but their tools are here. Media people - TV and Internet personalities mostly." "You talking about TV news people? News anchors and talking head bimbos?" “The same." “I'm guessing they don't have makeup and wardrobe service,’ said Nick. "Or did they all get arrested too?" “Maybe we should have," Harry replied. "Nah, we had arrest warrants issued by the grand juries in Amarillo, Just for the actual perpetrators. We got the media people here - the politicians are in a couple of other locations you don't need to know about. There's another group of miscellaneous - activists, fund-raisers, people like that - that have their own digs. They're all about the same - bare- bones but humane. Want to see some?" Miranda had been toying with her commpad as they talked. She tapped a few more times and looked up. “They're all ready,” she announced, "except G section. Some kind of fracas at breakfast, it's locked down until they get it sorted out.” “Did | mention the inmates are all women?" Harry asked. “Not surprising," Nick replied, "but no, you didn't. Most of the television personalities were women though.” After the Storm (2024)
